Tarique Rahman has reached his home district of Bogra for the first time since taking office as Prime Minister . He reached Bogra around 10 am on Monday. Earlier, he started his journey by road from Gulshan area of Dhaka in the early morning.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in several administrative and developmental programs during the day-long visit. One of the important aspects of the visit is the declaration of Bogra as the country’s 13th city corporation and the unveiling of a plaque in this regard. Those concerned believe that this decision will bring new momentum to the urban development and infrastructure expansion of the district.
According to the government schedule, he will inaugurate the new building of the District Bar Association and give a message of digital transformation in judicial services by launching the e-bail bond program in the court. After that, the formalities of upgrading Bogra Municipality to a city corporation will be completed.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate a measles vaccination program at a health center in Bagbari area of Gabtoli upazila. The program is seen as important to highlight the government’s priorities in the public health sector.
In the afternoon, he will address a public meeting at the city’s historic Altafunnesa playground, where he is likely to speak on political direction and development plans. He will also inaugurate the new building of the Bogra Press Club and the reconstruction of a central mosque.
According to analysts, this visit will not only accelerate local development projects, but also carry a message to further strengthen the government’s position in the Bogra region politically.
