US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement, but has expressed hope that a diplomatic solution to the overall situation is possible.
In a post on his social media account ‘Truth Social’ on Sunday, he said that a peace agreement could be reached soon to end the ongoing tensions between the two countries.
Trump said the United States was going to negotiate a “fair and realistic” proposal and that he hoped Iran would consider it positively. He also confirmed that a US delegation was traveling to Islamabad for the talks and was expected to arrive there by Monday evening.
According to US media journalist Jonathan Karl , Trump personally believes that “there will be a deal, no matter what.” However, he warned that the United States could take a tougher stance if negotiations fail.
In the current situation, Pakistan has once again emerged as a mediator. New discussions have begun in the international arena around this possible meeting in Islamabad. The relevant diplomatic circles believe that an effective agreement between the two sides is essential for long-term stability.
