Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has begun official activities at Bangabhaban for the first time after taking oath.
When the President arrived at Bangabhaban around 11 am on Sunday (August 23), he was welcomed by a well-equipped cavalry contingent of Bangladesh Police at Main Gate-2. Later, a smart contingent of the President’s Guard Regiment (PGR) of the Bangladesh Army presented a guard of honour to the President at the credential grounds of Bangabhaban.
After the guard of honour, the President and his family members were welcomed with flowers at the octagonal of Bangabhaban by the President’s Military Secretary Major General ASM Bahauddin, Public Affairs Secretary AJM Salahuddin Nagri, Press Secretary Sarwar Alam and PGR Commander Brigadier General Golam Arikul Alam.
On the first day of the commencement of official activities at Bangabhaban, the President signed various government documents in his office room. Later, he signed the Bangabhaban’s visitor’s book.
