State Minister for Lands Barrister Kaiser Kamal visited the Siddhirganj Union Land Office in Narayanganj and found the office locked and officials and employees absent during a surprise visit . He reached the office at 9:24 am on Wednesday (March 4) and found no one in charge.
The state minister expressed his anger as the office remained closed even after the scheduled time, even though the office is open from 9 am. He sat on the balcony of the office for about half an hour, listening to complaints from service recipients.
The State Minister said that the absence of officials at the scheduled time is unacceptable and legal and departmental action will be taken against such negligence as per the rules. He also commented that the suffering of service recipients waiting outside is regrettable.
A service recipient said that he came to the office at 8:30 am to check the progress of his online mutation application, but he faced problems when the office did not open at the scheduled time.
After the inspection, the State Minister assured that appropriate action would be taken against those concerned and said that the ministry is working to ensure harassment-free and timely services to citizens.
