The responsibilities of eight state ministers in the government have been reshuffled. The Cabinet Division announced the changes in a notification issued on Wednesday (March 4). As part of the administrative reorganization, the responsibilities of several important ministries have been reassigned.
According to the new arrangement, Md. Shariful Alam, who was in charge of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Textiles and Jute, will now only hold the responsibility of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, State Minister for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock and Food, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock only.
Habibur Rashid, who was in charge of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Department. State Minister for the same ministries, Md. Rajib Ahsan, will now look after the Ministry of Shipping and the Bridges Department.
State Minister for Finance and Planning Md. Jonayed Abdur Rahim Saki will now only be in charge of the Planning Ministry. State Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin has been given the responsibility of the Social Welfare Ministry.
According to the Cabinet Department, this responsibility has been reorganized to strengthen administrative efficiency and coordination of work.
