Hezbollah has claimedresponsibility for a drone attack on the Ramat David air base in northern Israel . Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported that a “swarm of drones” targeted the base’s radar and control room early Tuesday.
The group said the operation was in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on various areas of Lebanon. At the same time , the Lebanese government said at least 52 people were killed and 154 wounded in the Israeli attacks, a higher than previous initial estimates.
More than 28,500 people have been displaced by bombardment in southern and eastern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, according to the government’s disaster management unit. This new level of conflict has further heightened tensions across the region.
