
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim telephoned newly elected Prime Minister of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman to express his greetings and congratulations . The phone call took place at 3 pm on Friday.
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibli said that during the conversation, the two leaders exchanged greetings and emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia . Manpower export from Bangladesh was also discussed.
In the phone call, the Malaysian Prime Minister congratulated Tarique Rahman and BNP for their landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary elections and expressed his determination to work together on various bilateral issues in the future.
In response, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed gratitude for the congratulations and expressed hope that the two countries would move forward together towards the development and prosperity of the country.
