The President will administer the oath to the new cabinet members in accordance with the constitution, Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid said . He told reporters at the Secretariat on Saturday that the Cabinet Division is ready to organize the oath-taking ceremony.
He said that the current President Md. Shahabuddin will administer the oath. About 1,000 guests will be invited to the ceremony.
Regarding the size of the cabinet, he said, “The number of ministers will be determined by the leader of the parliament and the future prime minister. The exact date of the oath-taking is not yet final; it will be organized once instructions are received.”
Meanwhile, the gazette of the elected members of parliament in 297 constituencies has been published. According to the law, they will be sworn in within three working days, the Cabinet Secretary said. After that, the leader of the majority party will be elected and informed to the President; that leader will be appointed as the Prime Minister. After completing all the procedures, the oath-taking of the new cabinet will be held at a convenient time—probably within the next three to four days.
