Chief Advisor’s congratulatory message to Tarique Rahman

  • Professor Muhammad Yunus , the chief advisor to the interim government, has congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on his landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary elections .

    In his congratulatory message, the chief advisor said that BNP’s achievement of a huge majority under the leadership of Tarique Rahman is a reflection of the clear verdict of the people, which will be an important milestone for the country’s democratic transition, constitutional continuity, and institutional stability.

    He expressed optimism that Tarique Rahman would lead the country on a stable, inclusive and development-oriented path in the light of democratic values, public welfare-oriented thinking and wisdom. At the same time, he also recalled the state philosophy of late President Ziaur Rahman and the continuity of the pro-democratic leadership of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

    In the message, Professor Yunus said he hoped that national unity and democratic governance would be further strengthened in addressing challenges such as economic transformation, technology, climate resilience and international diplomacy. Thanking Tarique Rahman for his constructive cooperation during the interim government, he said his positive role was important in the national interest during this sensitive time.

    Finally, the Chief Advisor wished the new government success in building a just, prosperous Bangladesh for the welfare of the people of the country.
