A RAB officer was killed in an attack by terrorists in the Jungle Salimpur area of Sitakunda Police Station in Chittagong. Three other RAB members were injured in the incident.
The attack occurred during a raid on Monday (January 19) at around 6 pm.
The deceased RAB officer was named Motaleb. He was working as the Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) of RAB-7 on deputation from the BGB. The four seriously injured in the attack were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared Motaleb dead. The other three are undergoing treatment.
Additional law enforcement forces have been deployed in the Jangal Salimpur area following the incident. The authorities concerned said that details will be announced after the autopsy.
