Dhaka — BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman reached Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar after 3 pm on Friday. There, he paid homage to the grave of martyred President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam.
After visiting the graves, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit the National Memorial in Savar to pay tribute to the martyrs of the great Liberation War.
Security has been beefed up at important points around the capital’s Zia Udyan, the National Memorial in Savar and the Dhaka-Aricha highway surrounding the program. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed to maintain law and order.
Tarique Rahman returned to the country on Thursday after 17 years. The day after returning home, he began his formal program by paying tribute to his father and the martyrs of the Liberation War.
