Leaders and activists of the organization blocked Shahbagh intersection in the capital after Friday prayers on Friday, demanding justice for the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Shahid Sharif Osman Hadi.
Traffic towards Shahbagh, Katabon, TSC and Matsya Bhavan was stopped when a protest procession took out from Dhaka University Central Jama Masjid and took up position at Shahbagh.
During the blockade, protesters chanted slogans demanding swift arrests and exemplary justice. Inqilab Manch said the movement will continue until justice is ensured.
Earlier on Thursday night, the organization’s verified Facebook page announced the cancellation of Friday prayers and called for nationwide prayers, prayers, and protests.
Incidentally, Sharif Osman Hadi was shot dead on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan, Dhaka, on December 12, the day after the announcement of the schedule for the 13th national elections and referendum. He was taken to Singapore for better treatment, but died on December 18. Investigators have said that a leader of the banned Chhatra League was involved in the incident; there is talk that the accused has fled the country.
