Inqilab Manch said the body of the organization’s spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi will arrive in Dhaka on Friday evening. From the airport, the body will be taken to Dhaka University Central Mosque for public tributes.
In a post on social media after Friday prayers, Inqilab Manch said that the flight from Singapore will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 6 pm. After that, it has been called upon to receive it by taking an orderly position on both sides of the road leading from the airport to Shahbagh.
Sharif Osman Hadi died on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital after battling death for seven days. He was seriously injured when he was shot during an election campaign in Purana Paltan on December 12.
In a speech to the nation confirming Hadi’s death, the interim government’s chief advisor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, expressed deep grief. The president, the government, and various political parties and social organizations also expressed their condolences separately. A national mourning has been declared for Saturday and the government has promised to bring those involved in the attack to justice.
