The body of Sharif Osman Hadi, a frontline activist of the July Uprising and spokesperson of the Inqilab Manch, will arrive in Dhaka from Singapore on Friday evening. He died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore on Thursday night.
Inqilab Manch reported that the body will depart for Dhaka on a commercial flight of Bangladesh Biman at 3:50 pm local time and is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6:05 pm. Earlier in the morning, the first funeral will be held at Angulia Mosque in Singapore.
In Bangladesh, the state funeral of Shaheed Hadi will be held on Saturday (December 20) after Zohr at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital. Inqilab Manch has called on people from all walks of life to participate in it.
It is worth noting that Osman Hadi was shot during an election campaign in Purana Paltan on December 12. After receiving primary treatment in Dhaka, he was taken to Singapore for advanced treatment. Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government, expressed deep grief over his death. A one-day state mourning will be observed across the country on Saturday.
