Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has arrived at Bangabhaban to attend a meeting with President Md. Shahabuddin as part of the process of advancing the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.
He left from the Election Commission building at 11:40 am on Wednesday along with four members of the commission and EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed.
In recent days, the CEC has been holding a series of meetings with top government officials to focus on the constitutional election preparations. On Tuesday, he paid a courtesy call on retired Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed. Earlier, on December 7, he also met with Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has already asked Bangladesh Television and Betar to be ready to record the schedule announcement speech. It is expected that the CEC will announce the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election and referendum in an address to the nation. Accordingly, the election can be held by February 12.
