The verdict in the case against the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for crimes against humanity during the July–August uprising has begun.
On Monday (November 17), after 12:30 PM, the reading of the verdict started before the three-member bench of Tribunal-1, led by Chief Justice Md. Golam Mortuja Majumdar. Justice Majumdar stated that the verdict spans 453 pages and will be announced in six parts.
The other two members of the tribunal are Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
The verdict proceedings are being broadcast live by Bangladesh Television.
The other accused in the case were former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. Mamun admitted to his charges and testified as a state witness.
