Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has finalized and announced the names of candidates for 237 constituencies. However, the name of one candidate from the list has been suspended.
The information was released in a party statement on Tuesday (November 4).
According to the statement, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names of the party-nominated candidates during a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Monday (November 3). Among the 237 constituencies, the name of Kamal Zaman Mollah, nominated for the Madaripur-1 (Shibchar Upazila) seat, was also announced. Due to unavoidable reasons, the nomination for this constituency has been kept on hold.
The party further stated that the final nomination for Madaripur-1 (Shibchar) will be announced later, after the necessary procedures are completed.
