After being missing for nearly five days, K.M. Mamunur Rashid, former joint convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and a frontline activist of the July Movement, has been found in Purbachal, Dhaka. The news was confirmed on Friday (September 26) through a post on the Facebook page of the July Revolutionary Alliance.
According to the post, Mamun was located near Sector One Mosque in Purbachal, beside the proposed Sheikh Hasina Stadium. He was later taken to Uttara and admitted to the emergency unit of a government hospital. The organization stated that he is still in trauma but undergoing treatment.
The Uttara division’s DC and his team were directly involved in the rescue operation.
Earlier, on Sunday (September 21) morning, Mamun went missing after leaving his residence in the Hanif Ali Mor area under Turag Police Station. He had previously served as joint convener of the Turag thana unit of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and had been an active participant in the July Movement in Uttara.
