The Election Commission (EC) has approved the roadmap for the 13th National Parliamentary Elections, with only the formal announcement pending. Election Commissioner Anwarul Islam confirmed that the plan is finalized—“only typing is left”—and it may be announced at any moment.
On Wednesday, the roadmap was approved in a meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Nasir Uddin at Agargaon. Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat, Akhtar Ahmed, hinted that the official declaration could come as early as Thursday, remarking, “Would waiting a single day matter much?”
Meanwhile, hearings on the re-demarcation of constituencies across 33 districts covering 84 seats have concluded, with nearly 1,900 objections and recommendations submitted. Despite scuffles during some hearings, the EC assured that the roadmap’s publication will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the election journey.
