Eight leaders of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) have departed from Dhaka for a four-day visit to China. They left Dhaka on Tuesday (26 August) at 10:00 PM and are scheduled to return on 30 August.
The delegation is led by NCP convener Nahid Islam and includes Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Organizer Sargis Alam, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, Senior Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin, Senior Joint Member Secretary Nahida Sarwar Niva, Joint Convener Mahbub Alam, and Joint Member Secretary Tahsin Riaz.
During the visit, the delegation will meet Bangladeshi expatriates and tour various institutions in China, including a university, a village, and industrial factories. They are also scheduled to meet leaders of the Chinese Communist Party. According to NCP, the visit aims to strengthen friendly relations between the governments and peoples of the two countries. Earlier, on 21 August, a reception was held at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka for the delegation, attended by China’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen.
