Bangladesh’s young tigresses once again thrashed Nepal. In Thimphu, Bhutan, Suravi Akter Preeti’s brilliant hat-trick powered Bangladesh to a 4-1 victory.
In the first half, goals from Thunui Marma and Preeti gave Bangladesh a 2-1 lead. After the break, the girls played even more aggressively. In the 71st minute, Preeti netted her second from a corner tap-in, and in the 87th minute, she completed her hat-trick from a Purnima Marma cross to seal the win.
With this result, Bangladesh now has 9 points from four matches. India also has 9 points but from one match less, keeping them at the top. To claim the championship, Bangladesh must beat India by at least three goals in their final match on August 29.
