The government has decided to extend the public holiday one day on the occasion of Durga Puja. A public holiday will be declared on October 22nd. As a result, government employees will be able to enjoy a five-day holiday by combining the Durga Puja holiday and weekend.
This information was given by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (September 29th).
According to the government’s list of this year’s holiday, October 20 and 21 are public holidays on the occasion of Durga Puja. Vijaya Dashmi is a holiday on October 21st. The office was due to open on Thursday, October 22nd. However, it was decided to leave the executive order on that day.
The next two days will be a weekly holiday on Friday and October 23rd and 24th. As a result, government employees will get a five-day leave from October 20 to 24.
Rs 5 crore in grants in Durga Puja
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Durga Puja, the Hindu Welfare Trust sought a donation of Rs 4 crore from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. However, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed the trust to donate Rs 5 crore.
When the day of Durga Puja
Mahalaya will be held on October 10th this year. Then on October 16, Mahasthami on October 18, Mahastami on October 19, Mahabhamami on October 20, and Vijaya Dashami on October 21 will be celebrated.
