Actress Tanjin Tisha has extended her bail by surrendering to the court in a case filed on charges of cheating and breach of trust. The court also granted a stay on the charges.
On Tuesday (September 29th), Tisha surrendered before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin and filed a petition to extend the bail period. After the hearing, Tisha’s lawyer Nihar Hossain Faruk said the court ordered an extension of his bail period.
At the same time, the court also granted the petition filed by the accused to postpone the hearing on the formation of the complaint. The date of the next hearing was not immediately known.
According to the lawsuit, Tanjin Tisha took a saree worth Rs 28,000 from the online fashion page ‘Aponia’. He later took part in the promotion of the page and promised to pay the price. The plaintiff later alleged that Tisha had cut off the contact.
Aminul Islam, administrator of Aponia, filed a case against Tanjin Tisha in November 2025 on charges of fraud and breach of trust. After accepting the statement of the plaintiff, the court directed the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police to investigate the complaint and submit a report.
Later, when the DB submitted the investigation report, the court took it into consideration on July 12 and issued a summons against Tanjin Tisha and ordered him to appear in court on August 13. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Tisha surrendered before the court. The case was later sent to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin for further trial.
The court was scheduled to hear the case on Tuesday. Besides, according to the rules, Tanjin Tisha surrendered and the day was scheduled for bail. The hearing of the case began about five minutes after arriving in the court at 11am. After arguments from both sides, the court granted an extension of his bail and the hearing of the charge-sheet.
Tanjin Tisha, however, denied the allegation. Earlier, in a speech on social media, he claimed that the saree was given to him as a ‘gift’.
