4 more children die from measles and related symptoms in 24 hours; 917 infected

  • The death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms in the country has risen further. In the last 24 hours, four more children have died from the disease or associated symptoms, while 917 new cases have been reported.

    The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed this information in a bulletin regarding measles on Saturday.

    According to DGHS data, a total of 991 people have died from measles and measles-like symptoms since March 15 of this year. Of these, 100 deaths were confirmed to be caused by measles, while 891 individuals died with symptoms of the disease.

    In the last 24 hours, 843 people were identified with suspected measles, bringing the total number of suspected cases this year to 163,105.

    Additionally, a total of 143,214 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country with measles-like symptoms since March 15; of these, 137,921 have recovered and returned home after treatment.
