The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has strengthened special security measures across the country, including Dhaka, on the occasion of the ‘July Mass Uprising Day-2026’ on August 5. Intelligence surveillance, patrols and cyber patrolling have been increased to prevent possible sabotage, violence and unpleasant situations.
A press release from the RAB’s Legal and Media Branch on Tuesday said that maximum preparations have been made to ensure that extremist groups, banned organizations, or anti-state groups cannot carry out any kind of sabotage around the day.
RAB said that each battalion is implementing separate security plans by assessing the risks in their respective areas in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, intelligence agencies and local administrations. At the same time, intelligence activities have also been strengthened to collect advance information.
Special security arrangements will be in place at the event venue, designated routes for road marches and processions, and July monuments from the night of August 4. Along with uniformed members, RAB members in plain clothes will also be on duty.
The press release further said that preventive measures have been increased to prevent possible activities of suspicious individuals and banned organizations. RAB members have been monitoring the event venues and July memorials in various districts of the country for seven days in advance. In addition, cyber patrolling has been strengthened to prevent rumors and propaganda on social media.
RAB said that the force will be fully prepared to ensure public safety, maintain law and order, and prevent any kind of crime around the day.
