The July Uprising Memorial Museum is set to be officially inaugurated on August 5 (Wednesday). Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the museum as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, which will begin at 9 am.
According to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the event will be attended by government ministers, senior military and civilian officials, and invited dignitaries.
The museum will be open to war-affected families on the first day of the inauguration. From August 6, general visitors will have the opportunity to visit the museum by applying online.
The museum preserves various artifacts from the student-public movement, mass uprising, martyrs’ sacrifice, and long-standing dictatorship of July-August 2024. The exhibition includes photographs of the movement, rare documents, items used by the martyrs and injured, banners, placards, and various memorials related to the mass uprising.
In addition, information and data related to various events during the last 17 years of rule have also been preserved in the museum.
