The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a hike in the price of a 12-kg LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinder used in households by Tk 70.
According to the new price, the price of a 12-kg cylinder at the consumer level has been fixed at Tk 1,598, which was earlier Tk 1,528.
BERC announced this information in a statement on Sunday (August 2).
The notification said that the new price set for the month of August 2026 will be effective from 6 pm on Sunday and will remain in effect until further instructions are issued.
BERC said the new prices include VAT and will be applicable to consumers at the retailer level.
