As part of the administrative reorganization, major reshuffles have been brought at the top level of the police force. A total of sixteen additional DIGs, including several officers who have been promoted from the Superintendent of Police (SP), have been transferred and appointed.
The directive was issued in a separate notification signed by Deputy Secretary of Police-1 Branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday. The order is expected to take effect immediately.
Mohammad Anwar Hossain, who works in the Industrial Zone Police, has been transferred to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) as an additional DIG. Similarly, Kamrul Hasan Mahmud, who was promoted to the post of Special Superintendent of Police, has been given the responsibility of the Special Branch (SB).
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner Sufyan Ahmed has been appointed as the joint commissioner of DMP. Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) officer Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan has been given the responsibility of the same unit as additional commissioner.
On the other hand, several important changes have been made in various units and headquarters of the police. The CID, SB, RMP, Rangpur Range, Police Headquarters and Police Staff College have also been appointed and transferred.
According to the relevant sources, this large-scale reshuffle has been brought to increase promotion and administrative skills. The order, issued in the public interest, is expected to further accelerate activities at the field level.
