US President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with a new threat to the end of the deadline for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important global trade routes.
In a post on his social media “Truth Social”, Trump wrote, “Tonight, an entire civilization will die, which will never be brought back.”
“I don’t want that to happen, but maybe it could happen,” he added. But now we have seen an environment where different views, intelligent and less radical leadership are prevailing, which can revolutionly lead to something that can happen revolutionaryly.”
Trump added, “Who knows? Tonight we will know this, which is one of the most important moments in the world’s long and complex history. Forty-seven years of extortion, corruption and death will end. Good luck to the Iranian people.”
Analysts believe Trump’s warnings could increase pressure on Iran, as well as intensify international political and military tensions.
