The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has reported the death of eleven more children due to measles and measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours, which has raised new concerns about the recent infection situation.
According to a government release issued on Tuesday, one person died of measles during this period, while the rest are believed to have died of symptomatic complications. At the same time, new cases of 236 children have been identified on suspicion of measles and 224 have been confirmed in the test.
According to health authorities statistics, a total of 9 thousand 883 people were identified in the country from March 15 to April 7. One thousand 398 of them have been confirmed in the test. At the same time, six thousand 883 people were hospitalized and 4 thousand 635 people have recovered and returned home.
According to the death, the confirmed measles infection has killed 21 people during this period, and the death toll with symptoms stands at 128. The highest number of deaths occurred in the last 24 hours in the Dhaka division, where six deaths were recorded.
Public health experts say the rise in infections has once again brought the importance of strengthening and rapid detection measures. They warned that there could be increased pressure on the health system to keep the situation under control.
