To ensure that the upcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations are conducted in a fair and cheating-free environment, it has been made mandatory to install CCTV cameras in every room of the examination center.
To this end, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has issued 11-point special instructions for central secretaries and heads of institutions .
The directive was sent to the concerned on Saturday (March 28). The decision was taken after a discussion on the overall issues of the examination at a meeting held at the Ministry of Education on March 25. The meeting was attended by Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon and officials from the Ministry of Education and various education boards.
The directive states that SSC and equivalent examinations will begin across the country from April 21. The government has adopted a ‘zero tolerance’ policy to prevent any kind of irregularities in the examinations. To this end, all those concerned at the field level have been urged to strictly implement the directives.
The main instructions are:
Ensuring the installation of CCTV cameras in every examination center and room
Activate the stationary camera before starting the test.
Save the recorded video and provide it to the authorities if necessary.
Installing a grandfather clock in every room
Adequate security forces deployed
Ensuring that no one except the Central Secretary can use mobile phones
Allowing candidates to enter the center after body searching
Strict measures to prevent counterfeiting
Posting necessary instructions at the entrance of the center
Ensuring cleanliness and adequate lighting and ventilation
Follow the instructions of the Board of Education properly.
The directive further states that strict legal action will be taken against those concerned in case of any negligence in implementing these instructions.
