Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed his determination to further strengthen the armed forces at a ceremony organized to mark the great Independence and National Day .
He made this statement during an exchange of views with senior officers of the armed forces at the National Parade Ground in the capital on Thursday afternoon .
The Prime Minister said that the role of the armed forces is essential in protecting the security and sovereignty of the country. The government is working to modernize and empower this force. Citing personal experience, she said that she has a family connection with the armed forces and strengthening this institution is part of the state’s priority.
He also said that the purpose for which a country’s armed forces are developed—ensuring the security of the state and providing protection to the people—requires coordinated efforts at all levels to fulfill that goal.
