Loud explosions were heard in several areas of Israel, including the capital Tel Aviv, on Friday morning, as Israeli defense systems attempted to intercept multiple rockets fired into the air, international news agency Reuters reported.
According to Israeli military sources, air defense systems were activated to intercept missiles launched from Iran. During the interception, multiple explosions were seen in the sky and their sounds were heard in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement that the ‘Khyber’ missile was launched towards Tel Aviv as part of the 21st phase of its declared military campaign ‘Operation True Promise 4’.
The IRGC claimed the operation was a coordinated attack using missiles and drones and targeted key installations in central Tel Aviv. However, it was not immediately independently confirmed what damage or casualties the attack caused.
