Md. Mostaqur Rahman has been appointed as the new governor of Bangladesh Bank . The decision was announced in a notification issued by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
The notification signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Abraul Hasan Majumder said that he has been appointed as the Governor of Bangladesh Bank for a period of four years from the date of joining on the condition of renouncing work relations with all other institutions and organizations . As per the terms of the agreement, he will receive salary, allowances and other benefits from Bangladesh Bank. The remaining matters related to the appointment will be stipulated in a separate agreement and the order will come into effect immediately.
Mostaqur Rahman, an accountant by profession, was the Managing Director of Hera Sweaters Limited, a ready-made garment exporter , and the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Bangladesh Bank of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association .
