Peelkhana murder case will be properly investigated: Home Minister

    • Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has reiterated his commitment to ensure a full and proper trial of the Peelkhana massacre .

    He said that the legal process of all pending cases will be completed and the recommendations of the investigation commission will be implemented step by step.

    Speaking to reporters after a ceremony held at the Banani Military Cemetery on Wednesday to mark National Martyrs’ Day , the Home Minister said the Peelkhana incident was one of the most brutal killings not only in Bangladesh but also in the world. The report of the investigation commission formed to uncover the motive behind it is already in the hands of the government.

    He clarified that there is no plan to form a new investigation commission. The existing judicial process will be completed. Assuring the families of the martyrs, he said that those responsible for the attempt to weaken the country’s independence and sovereignty through this murder will be brought to justice – so that such incidents do not happen again in the future.
