Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has submitted his resignation. He formally handed over his resignation to Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon on Sunday (February 22) morning.
According to the Ministry of Education, he decided to step down citing personal and administrative reasons. After accepting the resignation letter, the next process will be completed as per the rules. However, no official announcement has been made from the ministry yet.
Earlier, in a pre-election press conference, the Vice-Chancellor said that the overall situation of the university is improving and he wants to step down after successfully completing a phase of responsibility. At the same time, he mentioned that the consideration that the political government can form the administration according to their choice also played a role in his decision.
