Dhaka—In the first cabinet meeting after the new government was sworn in, Tarique Rahman ordered to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Sehri, Iftar and Tarawih, keeping Ramadan in mind. Ministers were also present at the meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
State Minister for Labor and Employment and Expatriate Welfare Md. Nurul Haque Nur said that the Prime Minister has instructed everyone to ensure good governance, accountability and corruption-free administration. In addition, emphasis has been placed on keeping commodity prices normal, maintaining law and order, and quickly making family, farmer and health card activities visible to implement election promises.
The meeting also highlighted the Prime Minister’s plans to take special initiatives for the welfare of imams and muezzins and expand the labor market in the Middle East. State Minister Nurul Haque Nur said, “The Prime Minister has given necessary suggestions and given instructions on possible steps to expand the labor market.”
The cabinet meeting also decided to announce a roadmap for implementing the next 180-day action plan. The Prime Minister, ministers and state ministers took the oath last Tuesday and the notification for the distribution of portfolios was issued at night.
