Voting for the 13th National Parliament Election and the referendum on the implementation of the July Charter has been completed after the scheduled time. However, the activities of the respective centers will be closed after voters who were present at the centers by 4:30 pm have had the opportunity to vote. After that, the center-based vote counting will begin.
After the results of the centers are published, the returning officers will announce the consolidated results by constituency. The final official results will be announced from the results collection and distribution center set up at the Election Commission Secretariat.
Voting began across the country at 7:30 am on Thursday. As of 12 noon, the average voter turnout was 32.88 percent in 32,789 polling stations, the Election Commission said. There were a total of 42,779 polling stations across the country.
Elections were held in 299 parliamentary constituencies as voting was postponed due to the death of a candidate in Sherpur-3 constituency. 51 political parties participated in this election. A total of 2,034 candidates were nominated, of which 275 were independents.
