This February, all educational institutions in the country will be on a five-day holiday. According to the list of holidays set by the Ministry of Education, classes will be closed in all educational institutions from February 11 to 15.
This holiday will begin with the 13th National Parliament Election. February 11 and 12 will be government holidays for the elections, followed by regular weekly holidays on February 13 and 14—Friday and Saturday. Educational institutions will remain closed on February 15 for the Sri Sri Shivaratri fast.
An analysis of the Ministry of Education’s holiday list shows that this is the first long holiday of the current year and the fifth holiday listed. Earlier, the government had declared general holidays on February 11 and 12 for the election. In addition, a separate general holiday has been set for February 10 for workers in industrial areas.
