As part of the election campaign for Dhaka-17 constituency, a public rally of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was held at the BRP ground in Bhashantek in the capital on Friday evening. The rally, which started at around 6:30 pm, was attended by a large number of leaders, activists and supporters.
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman addressed the public meeting as the chief guest. He was accompanied on stage by his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman. Among the party’s top leaders present were Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Chairman’s advisor Abdus Salam, Farhad Halim Doner and Nazimuddin Alam.
Apart from this, local and central leaders including Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Aminul Haque and member secretary Mustafa Zaman participated in the rally. Among the representatives of the associate organizations, top leaders of the Jubo Dal and the Mohila Dal were also present.
BNP leaders said that this public meeting is an important part of the party’s campaign in the capital focusing on the upcoming national parliamentary elections.
