Barrister Jaima Rahman, daughter of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, said everyone should have the sincerity to do something for the country.
She made the remarks while delivering her first speech at a discussion titled ‘Women in Nation Building: Policy, Potential and the Future of Bangladesh’ organized at the Krishibid Institute in Khamarbari, the capital, on Sunday.
Citing her speech as her first experience at the policy level, Jaima Rahman said, “The beauty of democracy is discussing together despite having different opinions and perspectives. It is not necessary to know all the answers to questions to work for the society and the country, but rather a learning mindset and sincerity are required.”
Stating that sustainable development is not possible without the participation of women, he said, Bangladesh will not be able to move forward by ignoring half of the population.
Speaking at the event, economist Dr. Fahmida Khatun said that the biggest obstacle to women’s development is access to financial services. She emphasized on easy credit system for women entrepreneurs.
