BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to meet with the interim government’s chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Thursday evening. The chief advisor’s press wing has confirmed that the meeting will be held at the state guest house Jamuna.
Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, separate meetings of the 12-party alliance and the Nationalist Alliance were held with Tarique Rahman at the BNP chairman’s political office in Gulshan in the capital. The BNP media cell said that views were exchanged in an atmosphere of political courtesy and mutual cooperation during these meetings.
The alliance leaders highlighted their role in the anti-fascist movement and mentioned the past movement and election-time unity with the BNP. They reiterated their commitment to work unitedly under the leadership of the BNP in the upcoming elections and expressed their expectation of proper evaluation of the alliance partners if a government is formed in the future.
In response, Tarique Rahman said, “Everyone will have to work together for the victory of the paddy in the upcoming elections as well. If BNP forms the government, the alliance partners will be evaluated based on their qualifications and contributions.”
