Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the trial of Sharif Osman Hadi’s murder will be completed during the term of the interim government.
He told reporters after a meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat on Monday. The Home Affairs Advisor said that a charge sheet will be issued soon in the Hadi murder case and 11 people have been arrested so far. He expressed his firm determination to complete the trial process within the government’s tenure.
Regarding the upcoming national elections, he said that intelligence surveillance and police activities have been strengthened ahead of the elections. He called on everyone to cooperate and abide by the rules and regulations to maintain a normal electoral environment.
The Home Affairs Advisor also said that those who try to sabotage the vote will be severely suppressed. In addition, law enforcement agencies have been instructed to be on the highest alert to prevent anti-national conspiracies and propaganda.
