Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s son, Nicolas Maduro Guerra, has called on the people of the country to take to the streets after his ousted predecessor was detained by US forces, CBS News reported, citing the BBC.
Maduro and his wife are due to appear in a US court on Monday. In a video message posted on social media earlier, Maduro said they would be seen on the streets of Venezuela, warning that history would determine who the traitors were.
Nicolas Maduro Guerra, referred to in US court documents as “The Prince”, is also accused of drug trafficking, but was not captured during the recent US raid.
Analysts fear that the political situation in Venezuela will become even more heated due to this incident.
