Dhaka—After a long period of one and a half decades, the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Tarique Rahman arrived at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan in the capital at 3:35 pm on Monday.
The office was decorated with colorful arrangements to mark his arrival. Officials of the central office welcomed him with floral greetings. Thousands of leaders and activists gathered in the Nayapaltan area since morning; a festive atmosphere and traffic jams were created in the area.
Standing on the balcony of the office, Tarique Rahman greeted the leaders and activists. At that time, drawing attention to the public suffering due to the crowd on the roads, he called on everyone to leave the roads through the microphone. He said, there is no program on this day; everyone should be careful not to create obstacles in the movement of people.
Tarique Rahman worked at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan for the first time since returning home on Sunday. His presence in Nayapaltan is being seen as a significant moment in BNP politics.
