Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin held a meeting with the heads of the three services to review the law and order situation in the country ahead of the 13th National Assembly elections and a possible referendum.
The meeting was held at the CEC office in the Election Building on Sunday (December 21) afternoon. Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan and Air Chief Marshal Hassan Mahmud Khan participated in it.
The meeting reportedly discussed the pre-election law and order situation, recovery of illegal weapons, suppression of terrorist activities, and maintaining a peaceful electoral environment in accordance with the code of conduct.
More high-level meetings related to law and order are scheduled to be held before and after this, in which Election Commission members and senior officials will participate.
