Just as environmental pollution causes suffering to everyone, mental pollution also causes suffering to oneself and others. If a person’s mind is good, then the whole world, including the family and society, is good. Meditation has been doing the work of keeping the mind good for ages.
World Meditation Day was celebrated with such a message on Sunday morning at the National Press Club premises in the capital. Quantum Foundation, a volunteer organization that pioneered meditation practice in Bangladesh, took the initiative to organize the day.
The program began at 7 am. Thousands of peace-loving people from different walks of life gathered at the Press Club from different areas of the capital. At this time, the Press Club premises were filled to the brim. The program began with everyone expressing their gratitude for being well in a collective voice. Then, everyone present silently immersed themselves in meditation.
In an audio message at the program, Madam Nahar Al Bokhari, Director General of Quantum Foundation, expressed her sincere gratitude and greetings to everyone.

Shahid Al Bokhari, the inventor of the scientific meditation method Quantum Method, said in an audio message at the Mahajatak program, “Quantum has been saying for three decades that everything is good if the mind is good.” When the United Nations declared December 21 as World Meditation Day in 2024, a sense of joy swept through the hearts of meditation enthusiasts in Bangladesh, just like meditation practitioners around the world. Quantum declared 2025 as ‘The Year of Meditation’. Meditation practice gained new importance at all levels of society.
The discussion raised the issue of anxiety, worry, restlessness, trauma, fear, uncertainty and the psychosomatic diseases caused by the current digital life. It was informed that meditation shows the way to freedom from this. Therefore, the message of meditation needs to be spread to every home in the world.

Former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and former Chairman of NBR, Chairman of Social Development Foundation (SDF) Dr. Mohammad Abdul Majid, Executive Committee Member of National Press Club Kazi Rawnak Hossain, President of Broadcast Journalist Center BJC and Head of News of Maasranga Television Rezwanul Haque Raja, President of Bangladesh Photojournalist Association AKM Mohsin and retired teacher of Scholastica School Dr. Shahida Rahman described the feeling of practicing meditation at the event.
Media personalities and people from various professions were also present at the hour-long event. Apart from the capital, the day was celebrated simultaneously in various places across the country and abroad. In Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barisal, Khulna, Sylhet and other notable places across the country, countless people, including peace-loving children and teenagers, immersed themselves in meditation at the same time. Those who believe that a good mind is good, everything is good. It is the hope of all concerned that more and more people join this procession of well-being centered on World Meditation Day.
