Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said that election preparations are now in the final stages and ” we have boarded the election train .” He told reporters after meeting Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Regarding the meeting, he said it was a “courtesy call” to mark the retirement of the Chief Justice, not for any additional administrative discussions. However, he said the commission had requested the immediate activation of the Electoral Inquiry Committee, which consists of judicial judges, to investigate election complaints .
Nasir Uddin said the Chief Justice has assured that there will be no obstacles in appointing judicial magistrates and taking necessary measures.
Regarding election preparations, he only said that all necessary processes will be effective immediately after the announcement of the schedule, and the commission is currently moving forward with the final stages of announcing the election schedule.
