The Ministry of Public Administration has appointed 31 officers of the rank of Senior Assistant Secretary as Additional District Commissioners (ADCs), in a major reshuffle in the country’s field administration. The appointments will come into effect in a notification issued on Monday night.
The notification states that the newly appointed officers will exercise the powers of Additional District Magistrate under Section 10(2) of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1898, in addition to working in their respective districts.
The directive further states that if the officers do not join their workplace by December 11, they will be considered as released from their current duties from that afternoon. If someone’s office has changed before the transfer, they have been asked to submit a joining letter mentioning the address of the new workplace.
