BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus went to Evercare Hospital on Wednesday evening to inquire about her health.
He was welcomed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Khaleda Zia’s chief physician Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain at 7:07 pm.
Earlier in the day, the head of the UK’s expert medical team, Dr. Richard Billio, arrived at the hospital. The medical board said that although Khaleda Zia’s condition is stable, additional international expert opinion is necessary for her overall treatment. That is why two teams have arrived from the UK and China.
The BNP’s media wing said that the treatment guidelines are expected to be clearer with the participation of foreign doctors. They have already been given updated medical reports.
Meanwhile, BNP’s organizational activities have slowed down due to Khaleda Zia’s illness. Leaders and activists are holding prayer meetings across the country to pray for her recovery.
